I love oversized T shirts, the bigger the better. And seeing as my favorite color is purple, I wear this one from The Mountain a lot. (Also lusting after this baby). Anyway the giant purple wolf shirt has become one of my signature looks, heh. My friend Tara found the most amazing shirt ever at a thrift store and gifted it to me.
I mean…have you ever seen such a magical shirt? It’s old and worn in to the point of complete velvety softness, it lays beautifully, and it’s actually from The Mountain. Too cool for school.

Just added two absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G velvet hats to the shop. Other goodies have been added as well.
And most everything still up is on sale for the next few days before I go on vacation, at which point the shop will close for a few weeks.I’m moving and my dad is helping. We’ll be driving across the country (Boston to Boise) and making a trip of it.

red hat.

blue hat.
one hat. two hat.
Take some lovelies off my hands so I don’t have to pack them! You can click the above images for links to the etsy listings.

After a bit of a search for the perfect journal, I finally found “the one” in a local shop and promptly bought it. It’s the “Botanical Journal” in rose from Rifle Paper Co.

It is just the right size to carry in my bag, nice and thick with plenty of pages, and sports a pretty linen cover. I’m pleased as punch with it. It has a nice heft while still being small and portable and inside the pages have metallic accents.
This journal also comes in two other pretty colorways – blue and canary. I love the blue one, maybe it will be my next notebook!

I always love seeing ‘in my bag’ features on other blogs, so I thought I’d reveal the contents of my own bag. I reorganized it last week when I got a few new pouches in the mail.
So here it is – the bag itself is nothing fancy, just an old, worn leather number.

And here’s what I keep inside!

A journal and black art pen for doodling. Cute Danny Brito pouches hold my natura classica camera and cash. A cherry flavored ChapStick. An empty film camera keeps my loose change under control. Keys, of course, with a cute vintage Care Bear keychain. And a pouch decorate in sweet retro nuns holds all my punchcards and such. Oh and my ugly old phone isn’t pictured, but it’s usually in there too – or in my pocket.
And…if you are in the mood for some mildly voyeuristic eye candy, here are some of my favorite ‘in my bag’ features from other folks.
fieldguided. wit & whistle. audrey kitching (who has a ton of posts on this).
Thanks for taking a peek!

After about a year of investing very little time and interest in Blythe and all my other favorite vintage dolls, I’m starting to get back into the dolly world again.
Peaks and valleys are only natural in hobbies like this one. The Blythe collecting “scene” is awesome but so intense that I started to feel pretty overwhelmed and needed a bit of a break. I’ve also been super busy with school, extra-curricular commitments, and new friendships during these past months, and dollies took the back seat.
But I’ve started to miss Blythe, Kamar, Emerald Witch, and the dolly community quite a lot. So here I am, planning to buy a Kenner Blythe (and committed to keeping her my ONLY Blythe, but we’ll see how that goes…) to spoil and finally finally finishing up any lingering rerooting commissions. Yay!
Here’s one visiting dolly who I’ve been working on for far too long. This sweet Emerald Witch got a brand new saran reroot in a groovy shade of orange. Love it! I can’t wait to customize my own Eme – I’m thinking lilac or white hair and matching eye chips!
So so so excited to start photographing dolls again and to start sewing for them once more now that I’ll have access to my sewing machine again!
It’s nice to be able to set some things aside for a bit when they become too much…and even better to be able to pick them back up with even more enthusiasm and energy later.

Please meet my sweet Russian Dwarf Hamster, Domashneetsa! Usually I just call her Neetsa, though. Neetsa has been living with me in my room since February. She’s the sweetest, best little companion.
She is very quiet (even when she occasionally makes her adorable little squeaking sounds or runs in her wheel), very soft, very clean, and very curious. She makes a nice little roommate.

Plus, she likes to hide treats in her cheek pouches and make cozy little burrows inside her cage – how cool is that? We have a little ball for her to run around the room in, and she also likes to be held.

In the pictures my boyfriend is wearing the glove that we use to take her out of her cage. She never bites when we play with her, but sometimes she’ll nibble your fingers if you surprise her by sticking your hand into her territory.

Dwarf hammies make the best pets!

Collections…I have so many! Collecting stickers is something I’ve been doing since I was only a kid. A lot of my stickers are super 90s, seeing as I’ve had them in my collection since then!
As well as cheesy old school stickers, I also like finding new stickers from artists that I like. Some of the ones below are from Grace Miceli and Dame Darcy.

Stickers are as fun to keep as they are fun to decorate with. I like using them as seals on envelopes and for decorating letters to friends -it brings me back to passing notes in middle school.

I covered my trusty old laptop in stickers. I’m always on the lookout for new vinyl stickers for it. I’d love to add a pair of ruby slippers or something to the bunch!

I’m finished! Yes – I have officially written my last Harvard paper and taken my last Harvard final. I’ll be graduating at the end of the month.
To celebrate, I enjoyed a few glasses of prosecco last night and bought myself a pair of earrings from the shop featured in this post. I decided on the white quartz version.
I can’t believe I’m finished with this place at last.

I tracked down Ginette Lapalme’s shop after seeing some of her work on tumblr and really really liking it. From there, I fell hopelessly in love with her cat amulet pendants, and made it a mission to adopt one of my own.
At the time, there were none available in her shop, but Ginette kindly let me choose one of the three that were in progress. Oh boy, I think I made the right choice. I’m in love with his sweet expression and pretty fur. A dream cat for sure.

He arrived in a sheer pink bag, surrounded by an entourage of other little treats. A whole magical world, encompassed in an envelope – what a thrill!

I’m definitely going through a jewelry phase right now. But I really want to select only the pieces I love – mainly handmade, vintage, and antique – and curate a collection that is meaningful. Jewelry doesn’t have to be expensive to be special, but it does have to tell a story or evoke something that is dear to me.
I’d like to have pieces that I can eventually pass down to my daughters and granddaughters. Pieces that will be loved and admired for a long time. Being more mindful about little details like this has become so important to me over the past year.

To keep my bag organized, and to make sure I have everything I need for the day, I’ve collected a slew of zip-up pouches. They help me protect my camera and phone, keep track of receipts and wrappers, and manage loose change throughout the day.
Fabric or leather, big or small, round or rectangle – pouches are both cute and practical. Here are some of my very favorites.

These bold little coin purses from Dig & Mig come in the cutest fabrics! I love the round shape.

This shop is full to the brim with the most stunning geometric pouches, in all shapes and colors and for every function. I think I’ll be purchasing one or two very soon – I need a new camera-sized pouch!

Jazzy pouches featuring Danny Brito’s swell art can be found in his shop. I’m definitely going to add a few to my collection.

And felt is certainly a nice way to go – and a cozy one, at that.

The cutest of kitschy prints can be found here. I purchased a pouch from this shop recently and I adore it! I’ve been using it to hold my ID and various cards.
I can always make room for another cute pouch in my bag.
